The Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California, has selected Kirkland, WA based ADVANCED BusinessLink to modernize and web-enable their LMS hotel application.

Pechanga is an AAA Four-Diamond resort with 522 rooms and suites, which offers its guests and players an 88,000 square foot casino with 2,000 slot machines and 60 table games.

According to Rod Luck, Pechanga's Director of Information Technology, the property had previously attempted to implement IBM's Webfacing solution in conjunction with the LMS application. The solution was developed in HTML and required the implementation of WebSphere. Pechanga noted that the application ran slower than the green screen, and users were dissatisfied with the loss of functionality. For example, the users could no longer key ahead, or use macros with which they were familiar.

ADVANCED BusinessLink subsequently implemented their Strategi-based Strategi webSTYLETM solution. Strategi webSTYLETM is different from other web-enabling solutions because it maintains full 5250 compatibility through a Java-based pattern recognition engine. Users can work with the application using a mouse, or the keyboard, allowing experienced users to enter data quickly, with full function key compatibility and key ahead capability. New users simultaneously learn the application more quickly through the GUI interface. Moreover, Strategi webSTYLETM web-enables applications, without affecting performance on the iSeries. There is no need to install anything on the client PC. Web-enabled solutions operate as quickly and efficiently as green screen applications, while providing all the benefits of modernized applications to the users.

The ABL solution is now running in the live production system throughout the property, including the Front Desk, Reservations, and PBX.
