ADVANCED BusinessLink Corporation announces SSL 3.0 support in its three main connectivity products, providing the industries most secure Internet connectivity suite.
BusinessLink/WEB, BusinessLink/REMOTE-IP and BusinessLink for JAVA now all contain SSL support to provide industry standard protection, in addition to their existing security infrastructure - creating a new level of AS/400 Internet security not previously available.
BusinessLink/WEB, the high-end AS/400 web server now supports secure conversations from most browsers using SSL 2.0 or 3.0. SSL was previously only available to AS/400 sites through I/NET's CommerceServer/400 product (which only protects HTTP traffic) and required users to directly connect their AS/400's to the Internet, leaving them open to attack via FTP, TELNET, SMTP or other protocol based attack, and forcing the use of firewalls, etc in an attempt to reduce the risk.
BusinessLink/WEB uses its unique co-processor architecture to make AS/400 attacks impossible by design. The AS/400 receives no TCP/IP traffic to/from the Internet, and therefore has zero exposure to the risks previously outlined. SSL ensures the confidentiality and identify of the conversing parties, while BusinessLink's native architecture totally protects the AS/400 from external attack.
BusinessLink for JAVA's SSL-based security goes a step further, providing automatic secure mail-boxing of files and spooled output, ensuring that files and reports are delivered from the AS/400 to their intended recipient only.
BusinessLink/REMOTE-IP is perhaps the ultimate secure Internet client. Unlike BusinessLink/WEB and BusinessLink for JAVA which are typically accessed via browsers, it is an actual client which is distributed securely to end users. It has all the security features of the other BusinessLink products (including the secure mail-boxing of files and reports with guaranteed delivery to their recipient) but adds many additional key features which are unique in the AS/400 marketplace.
The client software uniquely identifies its user to the AS/400 without reliance on passwords, etc. It detects unauthorized duplication of the client software and will refuse all subsequent connections to that client only until reactivated by the system administrator.
In addition to its security features, it provides high speed 5250, fast, crash recovered file transfer and printing and AS/400 based management for easy deployment and support.
